Shane D. Plummer - Owner/President

Shane D. Plummer is a second-generation horseman. Growing up in the industry, he has been involved in nearly all aspects. Shane has been in many leadership positions from athletic, scholastic, ecclesiastical and professional all of his life. Shane is an Eagle Scout and has received a half-dozen National Academic awards throughout his educational career. After high school, Shane served two years as a missionary in Taiwan, Republic of China. He then graduated from the University of Utah with a BS in Chinese and a minor in Business. Shane has a deep passion for the horse business and has a keen understanding of its economics. He has extensive knowledge in genetics and mating selection as related to breeding due to his other passion, Racing and Fancy Pigeons. Shane currently sits on the Board of the National Cutting Horse Association’s Stallion Committee. He is also a certified Appraiser with the American Society of Equine Appraisers. Shane has been intimately trained by whom he would call the best, his Father. Shane married his high school sweetheart, Jane and they have four children.

Semira Mancill, DVM, DACT - Resident Veterinarian & Breeding Manager

Dr. Semira Mancill is a native of Fort Worth, Texas. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 2001 and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2005, both from Texas A&M University. After graduating from veterinary school, she pursued post-graduate training at a private practice internship in Whitesboro, TX, a Master’s Degree in Reproductive Physiology and a residency in theriogenology at Texas A&M University.

Dr. Mancill is a boarded specialist in the American College of Theriogenologists (DACT). She is active in the veterinary profession – serving as a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners, Society for Theriogenology and American College of Theriogenologists. She is also an active speaker and enjoys research. Her specialty is the management of subfertile mares and stallions, with her master’s research focused on the advanced semen processing techniques of cushioned cetrifugation, EquiPure™ centrifugation and semen cryopreservation.  During her time away from veterinary work, her and her husband enjoy outdoor activites such as riding quarter horses, fishing, playing with their dogs and spending time with family.

Carol Shrives - Office Manager

Carol Shrives has an Executive Assistant/Office Manager degree from Western Business University in Portland, Oregon and during her career she has worked in the private as well as public sector. Carol is a life-long horse enthusiast that started working in the horse industry in 2001. Carol and her husband Dave have two sons and two grandchildren. Carol has been an integral part of Buffalo Ranch since 2006. She prides herself in her relationships with our customers and taking care of their every need.

Todd Moreno - Maintenance

Todd Moreno has been with Buffalo Ranch since 2004. He had lived on a horse ranch for most of his early life. Todd has been and is a valued member of the Team.
