Dr. Emily Hughes - Resident Veterinarian
Dr. Emily Hughes graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She completed her last year of vet school at Texas A&M, but also received her undergraduate and master's degrees from there with a focus in equine reproduction. During her education, she worked as a Breeding Intern for Birdsong Farms in Hearne, Texas and participated in various reproductive research studies in horses and donkeys that led to her publication in the Clinical Theriogenology Journal. After graduating vet school, Dr. Emily completed her Veterinary Internship at Texas Equine Hospital in Bryan, Texas before working as a mobile equine veterinarian for the past several years here in North Texas. Her primary interests are in equine reproduction, but she also does routine preventative care and lameness/sports medicine. Dr. Emily also has begun training in the Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist course through Chi University in Reddick, Florida to provide alternative medicine options for equine patients and is a current member of TEVA, AAEP, and the AVMA. In her free time, Dr. Emily enjoys spending time with her family and boyfriend, riding horses, working out, and her Corgis - she has 4 and counting!
