S. David & Debby Plummer
FOUNDERS
Married in November 1970, David & Debby Plummer started their life
together. While in Graduate School Mr. Plummer wrote a Masters Thesis on
the Equine Industry. After graduation, David & Debby agreed that with
their knowledge and passion for the horse business, that was their future.
In 1973, they purchased their first horse. From that time to this, Mr.
Plummer has been one of the nation’s leading businessmen in the horse
industry. Debby was a city gal who never even owned a pet when she married
David. Debby has been involved in most aspects of the horse business. Weighing
110 lbs. she helped break and gallop their first race horses. Debby was
the stallion handler the first year they stood stallions; she cleaned stalls,
fed horses and hauled horses around the nation. For 25 years she was the
Chief Financial Officer of their business. The Plummer Family has built
one of the most successful horse businesses in the world. All five children
are involved in some aspect of their horse business, and the Plummer family
now includes 16 grandchildren.

Spencer D. Plummer
DIRECTOR
spencer@sdpbuffaloranch.com
Mr. Plummer received a B.S. in Finance from the University of Utah. Mr. Plummer is a second generation lifelong horsemen. Raised around racing quarter horses, his interests have branched into Thoroughbreds, and cutting horses, the most athletic of the quarter horse breed. The equine industry has allowed Mr. Plummer to buy, race, and sell horses in Japan, Australia, England, Ireland, France, Brazil, Italy, and the United States. Mr. Plummer has been involved with every major classic horse race for Thoroughbreds in America, including the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, Belmont, and Breeders Cup. Breeding high priced horses is what Mr. Plummer does best. In his career as a horseman, he has sold more then $100M in horse flesh. Notable sells include colts and fillies by Seattle Slew, Storm Cat, Danzig, A.P. Indy, Deputy Minister, and Mr. Prospector for multiple seven figures. Owning prized stallions and blue blood mares has been financially rewarding, but his real thrill comes when a foal that he selected, bred, or raised goes on to become a Graded Stakes winner and better yet, a Champion. As a father of four, he is proud to have earned an Eagle Scout and for his two year service as a missionary in Scotland for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mr. Plummer has enjoyed his association with Young President’s Organization and Sons of the American Revolution. The family owned and operated Buffalo Ranch has become an integral part of Mr. Plummer’s life.
