Have Your Cake & Eat It, Too! - With Shane Plummer as featured on QHN

I have grown up in the horse business, probably not in the way you think, though. Yes, I was used for labor in my parents’ business — nothing unreasonable, but I did learn how to work. I did not grow up with show horses or thinking that horsemanship was a fun thing. I grew up in the horse business seeing the value and enjoyment that horses bring to one’s life, along with seeing horses as assets, which can have real value. To be able to enjoy them AND make money, well then … Having your cake and eating, too, is possible!

Two years ago, I got my first reined cow horse by transitioning a 2-year-old cutting colt into cow horse. The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) had just announced they were moving the historic Snaffle Bit Futurity to Fort Worth, Texas — no more than 11 miles from my front door. I thought, I want to be a part of that.

So, I picked my best prospect that I felt could be successful at that event. He was bred and raised here at the ranch, pretty much bred SDP through and through (you’ll see that in a bit here). I felt like we could have some success and fun to boot. SDP Hy Rey Bound was officially on his new path.

This colt did, in fact, deliver the goods! Clay Volmer expertly put together a heart-pounding 226 fence work run that lit up Will Rogers Coliseum and brought the house down. I have been blessed with great racehorses, great cutting and reining horses. I don’t know if there is anything more electrifying than a great heart-pounding fence work like this champion laid down!

Here at the ranch, we have received so many calls to breed to this stallion. You will see here in a bit that he is royally bred and he is as good of an athlete as can be found anywhere. He is simply “the goods.” It is very tempting to a stallion guy like myself to just say, “Well, sure. Let’s get these mares bred!” But temperance and maximizing the horse itself is always my goal. That instinct — whether learned or bred in me — is how I see things. Giving SDP Hy Rey Bound the greatest chance to be successful as a show horse AND starting his breeding career the right way — managing the demand and his future — has led us to this AMAZING opportunity.

This is a top show horse. So much hype and energy is being shared with us on a daily basis. What we have decided to do is create

perhaps the very best joint ownership situation you can get when it comes to owning a top-end show horse and breeding stallion. It’s a marvelous way to have your cake and eat it, too!

We are creating an exclusive champion’s club that lets you take the “Hy Way” with SDP Hy Rey Bound. This will be a joint ownership by proportionate shares and believe me, ownership will have its privileges, like exclusive ownership gear and events. We are going to have fun with this. He is eligible for aged events for another two and one-half years through 2021. We want our friends to enjoy this ride with us, creating something fun.

But, there’s more!

This will also include breeding rights to him, even multiple rights per share for his first three breeding seasons. We plan to start his breeding career off right, beginning in 2020.

We are creating an opportunity with a real live winner. Having your cake and eating it, too, has never been this much fun.

Shares are limited and will be sold first come, first served.

If you want to be a part of something fun and with real value, give us a call at 817-560-0038.
